Dre-Ski is an upcoming artist who brings that Virginia sound while connecting to his listeners. As an artist who enjoys writing their own music, he channels that wittiness and high-paced sound that you can vibe to. The Hip-Hop/Rapper is currently working on his new EP, and networking to help expand his brand. You can get to know him below
When did you start doing music?
honestly started doing music after I graduated high school. I use to write raps over instrumentals and let some of my friends hear it, but they wouldn’t take me seriously. It wasn’t until I went to college and opened up for Lupe Fiasco and Fabolous where people started taking me seriously.
When did you record your first record?
I honestly recorded my first record in 2006. I was working on a mixtape called “Follow Me Vol. 1”.
Why music? Describe your passion.
My passion for music has always been undeniable. Growing up my parents listened to all genres of music, primarily R&B. 90’s and 2000’s Hip-Hop developed my passion for music greatly.
Who/what inspires your sound/music?
I am truly inspired by Jay-z, J Cole, Fabolous, Pusha –T, and various artist from the south to include Ace Hood and Moneybag-Yo
What impact are you looking to make with your music?
Who do you want to impact? I am looking to make an influential impact. I think a lot of new music is “fast food” and doesn’t really contain a lot of substance. I mean no disrespect to artists that have a major platform, I really want to engage with my audience and leave a long-lasting impression.
What are you currently working on?
I am currently working on my next EP. The name of the project is called “Turning Point”. In the meantime, I have a few singles I intend on releasing this upcoming summer.
