Rap-A-Lot Records continues its 40th anniversary celebration with new editions of two classic rap albums from Houston legends Bun B and Pimp C. Pre-orders launch today for Bun B’s acclaimed solo debut Trill, returning to vinyl for the first time since 2014, and Pimp C’s Pimpalation, celebrating its 20th anniversary with its first-ever vinyl pressing, alongside CD and cassette editions.
The new releases follow the successful anniversary editions of Scarface’s The Diary and Geto Boys’ We Can’t Be Stopped, whose limited-edition vinyl variants all sold out. The releases helped generate a new wave of attention around Rap-A-Lot’s historic catalog.
Released in 2005, Bun B’s Trill marked the UGK co-founder’s long-awaited arrival as a solo artist. The album featured an all-star lineup of collaborators including Pimp C, Jay-Z, T.I., Lil Wayne, Scarface, Jeezy, Too $hort and Mannie Fresh. Led by records including “Draped Up” and “Get Throwed,”Trill further established Bun B as one of Southern hip-hop’s defining voices while carrying forward the sound and influence he helped build with UGK. The new edition marks Trill’s first vinyl release since 2014 and presents the album in a gatefold jacket for the first time, complete with an 8×10 photo insert.
Pimp C’s Pimpalation, originally released in 2006, arrived during one of the most significant periods of the late artist and producer’s career. Featuring appearances from Bun B, Mike Jones, Slim Thug, Chamillionaire, Lil Keke, Webbie and others, the album showcased the unmistakable personality and Texas-rooted sound that made Pimp C one of hip-hop’s most influential figures. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026, Pimpalation makes its long-awaited vinyl debut, marking the album’s first-ever vinyl pressing as part of Rap-A-Lot’s ongoing 40th anniversary campaign.
Also currently available for pre-order is the 30th Anniversary Edition of Do Or Die’s Picture This. Originally released by Rap-A-Lot in 1996, the platinum-selling album introduced the Chicago trio to a national audience behind the classic “Po Pimp” featuring Twista and Johnny P. The newly expanded 2xLP features overhauled artwork by acclaimed designer Mr. Krum, restores “Search Warrant” to vinyl and includes an 8×10 photo insert.
