Memphis Rapper Tyke T Takes It Up A Notch With Dynamic New Single “Countdown”

On the heels of his Billboard charting project “The Prelude” as well as his 30 Day Mixtape series, Memphis rapper Tyke T releases a song for the ladies in his new hit “Countdown”. Premiering with his very own “Driven VIP” channel, the music video will become available on Roku as well as FireStick to expand its availability to new audiences. The ‘Driven’ brand, which has been coined by Tyke T, offers a subscription-based model for dedicated fans and followers who wish to stay informed about new music and merchandise.

Having been challenged by his manager to write a good vibe track for the ladies, Tyke T drew inspiration from his wife’s busy schedule to write a song about taking her mind off of the stress and making time for a much needed night out on the town. This is certainly a shared sentiment by many in our world’s current state. We’re all wishing for a semblance of normalcy so that we can once again, enjoy a stress free night out. Following a string of successful sync placements with VH1’s Black Crew Compton, FOX’s The Masked Singer, The Surge 2 Trailer and several ESPN games, Tyke T’s new track offers that mainstream appeal while maintaining an undoubtedly strong lyrical skill.

The countdown to the weekend is seamlessly expressed in his playful music video that features a girl who wants to wrap up her day and get cute for a stress-free night off of work. Tyke T raps to her on Facetime as he gets ready to get her mind off of all that life has thrown her way. Introducing impressive skyline views of downtown Memphis, he joins her for a romantic meal and a glass of vino as they dance the night away.

“5-4-3-2-1, That’s the countdown, It’s Friday afternoon – Paint the town (red) // Dealt with the Bull shyt all week, Bout to go down // If you bringing bad vibes, Gotta go now”

By combining honest lyrics, bold production and insight garnered from his graduate education, Tyke T has proven his mastery of the game as he continues to climb the charts without the help of a major label. After graduating with his MBA from Middle Tennessee State University, Tyke T has successfully stormed the Top 50 of four Billboard charts. Influenced by everyone from Jodeci to Kanye West, his earlier work impressively made it to the Top Ten in VH1’s ‘Make A Band Famous’. Making a name for himself in Memphis, Tyke T has been featured as the ‘Next Big Thing’ by local radio after his opening performances with well known acts B.O.B & Boosie Badazz. In 2015, he had the honor of performing John Legend and Common’s hit “Glory” at the NAACP Freedom Awards to honor the director of the historical film ‘Selma’.

Driven, dedicated and decorated, Tyke T introduces “Countdown”, available on Roku, FireStick and all streaming platforms today.
