Buddy Returns With New Single & Announces Self-Titled Album, ‘Simmie Sims III’I

Compton artist Buddy returns to officially announce the release of his highly anticipated self-titled album, Simmie Sims III, an ode to legacy and building a name that time respects. Ahead of the LP, arriving April 10, the genre-blending artist shares the latest preview of his fourth studio album with the release of “House Jam.”

Speaking about the new single, Buddy shares: “‘House Jam’ is the sound of the night not ending—just changing locations. When the music follows you home and the energy turns personal. Bringing my sister, FAUCET, onto the record adds a real sense of home, and China keeps it sexy and fun! A time was had when we made this song.”

“House Jam” is anchored by a hypnotic low-end that reels in the listener. The track demonstrates Buddy’s understanding of house music while pushing into an immersive, more experimental territory. Vocals from FAUCET and China help capture the electricity of the moment. The result is a dance-ready anthem that embodies the thrill of a night out, defined by good vibes, dancing, and spontaneity.

The new single is taken from Buddy’s forthcoming project, Simmie Sims III. As a whole, the self-titled album encompasses 14 tracks in total and features dynamic appearances from Jay Rock, Kalan.FrFr, Key!, Guapdad 4000, Cuzzos, Kent Jamz, FAUCET, Huey Briss, and the Compton rapper’s son, Simmie Sims Jr.

Buddy refuses to be boxed in. Over the last decade, he’s evolved from a promising up-and-comer to a venerable rap star. But Buddy’s evolution goes far beyond music. He’s expanded his presence on screen with appearances in shows like Bel-Air and Rap Sh!t, and was recently cast as a series regular in the upcoming Snowfall spinoff on FX. He’s just as comfortable on screen as he is commanding the stage — the latter of which is exemplified by last year’s residency at the Blue Note jazz club in Los Angeles (with The Don Brown Collective).

One of the most respected rappers by his peers, Buddy has carved out a path that blends street wisdom with high art. Throughout this time, he’s fit comfortably into varied soundscapes and has collaborated with everyone from Kendrick Lamar, Nipsey Hussle, Chance the Rapper, and Joey Bada$$ to Khalid, Ari Lennox, Tinashe, and Kaytranada.

With Simmie Sims III, Buddy steps fully into his next era — one defined by bold creative risks, emotional transparency, and a deeper connection with the community that has shaped his artistry, and his life.
