In an industry where trends often outshine talent, Saugasson stands out for one simple reason—he’s real. The Toronto-based artist doesn’t chase the sound of the moment; he builds his own. From his poetic beginnings to crafting mood-driven projects that reflect his personal growth, Saugasson’s art feels human in a digital age that often forgets what that means.
“I’ve always loved music and singing since a child,” he says. “Eventually, poetry turned into writing music and a desire to make music.” That natural evolution laid the foundation for his unique sound—a sound that refuses to fit neatly into a single genre box.
Each project represents where he’s at emotionally. “My last project had mostly dancing beats because I felt like dancing this summer,” he explains. “My next project will be more alt music and love songs.” That fluidity isn’t indecision—it’s evolution. Saugasson is the kind of artist who treats each song like a timestamp in his life, documenting not just what he feels, but how he grows.
His creative process is just as intentional. Before he records a single word, Saugasson maps out the mood, theme, and sound he wants the project to embody. Sometimes he builds from old lyrics, sometimes he starts from scratch—but every line is carefully chosen. “I’ll record a demo at the home studio, then bring it into 145 or send it to my engineer,” he says. “It depends on the project.”
When it comes to collaboration, he’s not swayed by hype. “I’d most want to collaborate with whomever I can make great music with or family,” Saugasson shares. “Otherwise, I’m not really interested in collaborating.”
That same independence is what defines his artistry. Whether performing across cities in the GTA, Montreal, or in the States, Saugasson feeds off energy—both from the crowd and within himself. After taking a brief break from live shows to focus on building his personal life, he’s now gearing up for new visuals and a major project in 2026.
But perhaps the most telling part of Saugasson’s story is his outlook. Grounded by wisdom from his father—“Always be actively learning, and try to learn about many things”—he approaches life and art with curiosity and integrity. “Never give up on your goals, always be a good person, and live life with purpose,” he says. “You never really fail until you give up.”
In a world where virality often outweighs vision, Saugasson represents something refreshing: an artist unafraid to slow down, reflect, and let his music move with him—not against him. With visuals dropping before year’s end and a full project on the way in 2026, his message is clear—he’s not chasing the moment; he’s creating his own.
