As the entertainment industry expands beyond Los Angeles, film producer and music executive Mike Baro is establishing Las Vegas as the headquarters for Remaking+, building original film, television, live events, and culture-driven entertainment while continuing to work across the country’s leading media markets.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For decades, Los Angeles has been considered the center of the entertainment industry. If you wanted to build a career in music, film, or television, there was one obvious destination.<\/span>But Mike Baro believes that era is changing.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

After spending more than fifteen years working in the music industry\u2014including executive leadership roles at Capitol Records and Warner Music Group, where he helped lead campaigns for artists including Drake, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Nicki Minaj, Migos, Enrique Iglesias, and The Jonas Brothers\u2014Baro made a decision that surprised many people close to him.<\/span><\/p>\n

He didn’t move farther into Hollywood.<\/span><\/p>\n

He moved to Las Vegas.<\/span><\/p>\n

Not to step away from the entertainment industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

To get ahead of where it’s going.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I didn’t leave Los Angeles because I wanted less opportunity. I moved to Las Vegas because I saw more of it.”<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

At a time when headlines have focused on slowing tourism and changing travel trends, Baro sees a very different story unfolding.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“I think people are confusing short-term cycles with long-term growth,” he says. “When I look at Las Vegas, I don’t just see what’s happening today\u2014I see what’s being built over the next decade.”<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

That long-term view is what convinced him to relocate Remaking+’s headquarters to Nevada and make Las Vegas the home base for his growing slate of film, television, live entertainment, and media ventures.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Betting on the Next Entertainment Capital<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Baro’s decision wasn’t based on one opportunity.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was based on dozens.<\/span><\/p>\n

Formula 1 transformed the Strip into one of the world’s premier sporting stages.<\/span><\/p>\n

The NFL Raiders now call Las Vegas home.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Athletics are building a new stadium that will permanently reshape the Strip corridor.<\/span><\/p>\n

The city continues to be one of the leading candidates for NBA expansion.<\/span><\/p>\n

Major entertainment companies, including Sony Pictures Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery, have publicly explored significant production investments in Nevada.<\/span><\/p>\n

High-profile figures like Mark Wahlberg have championed expanding film production in the state.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, Las Vegas has become one of the busiest cities in America for concerts, conventions, combat sports, esports, creator events, and hospitality.<\/span><\/p>\n

For Baro, none of these developments are isolated.<\/span><\/p>\n

“They’re signals,” he says.<\/span><\/p>\n

“They point to a city becoming something much bigger than people still give it credit for.”<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Building Outside Hollywood<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Baro believes one of the biggest misconceptions in entertainment is that success still requires being physically based in Los Angeles.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The industry doesn’t operate from one city anymore,” he says.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Streaming changed that. Digital distribution changed that. Remote collaboration changed that. You can build globally from anywhere if you’re intentional.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Rather than leaving the industry behind, Baro says Las Vegas allows him to stay connected to Los Angeles while operating from a city with more flexibility, lower operating costs, and increasing influence across entertainment.<\/span><\/p>\n

He continues to travel regularly between Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and New York while producing projects across multiple markets.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Building More Than Film and Television<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Through Remaking+, Baro is developing a slate of original film, television, documentaries, and digital media projects designed around culture-driven storytelling.<\/span><\/p>\n

Among them is So I Went Looking…In Vegas, a documentary series exploring the city beyond the casinos by highlighting its neighborhoods, food, history, entrepreneurs, and communities through a cinematic lens.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another project, Word of Mouth, combines food, music, and culture by uncovering hidden restaurants and the people behind them.<\/span><\/p>\n

His expanding slate also includes feature films, unscripted television, music-driven content, and creator-focused programming.<\/span><\/p>\n

But recently, Baro has begun expanding into another area.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Live experiences.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to producing media, he is developing premium entertainment events, celebrity experiences, and cultural programming in Las Vegas, with plans to work alongside hotels, private clubs, artists, and brands to create experiences that connect music, business, and culture.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The same way I think about producing a television show is the same way I think about producing an event,” Baro says.<\/span><\/p>\n

“You’re telling a story. You’re creating a moment that people remember.”<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A Different Vision for Las Vegas<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Baro believes Las Vegas is entering a new era.<\/span><\/p>\n

Not one defined solely by gaming or nightlife.<\/span><\/p>\n

But by convergence.<\/span><\/p>\n

Entertainment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sports.<\/span><\/p>\n

Technology.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hospitality.<\/span><\/p>\n

Film.<\/span><\/p>\n

Television.<\/span><\/p>\n

Music.<\/span><\/p>\n

Business.<\/span><\/p>\n

Creator culture.<\/span><\/p>\n

Very few cities in the world sit at the intersection of all of those industries.<\/span><\/p>\n

Las Vegas does.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I think we’re still incredibly early,” he says.<\/span><\/p>\n

“A lot of people will realize what Las Vegas is becoming after it’s already happened.”<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Being Early<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

While many businesses wait for trends to become obvious, Baro says he’s always preferred identifying opportunities before they become consensus.<\/span><\/p>\n

“It’s never been about following the crowd.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“It’s about seeing where the industry is going before everyone else gets there.”<\/span><\/p>\n

For Baro, moving to Las Vegas wasn’t simply a relocation.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was a strategic decision about where he believes the next chapter of entertainment will be written.<\/span><\/p>\n

And through Remaking+, he’s betting that chapter is just beginning.<\/span><\/p>\n
