Emerging artist JaCene, also known as JaCene Muziq, is making waves in the music industry with her soulful sound, heartfelt lyrics, and inspiring journey. Hailing from Rockford, Illinois, just outside Chicago, JaCene’s rise reflects a deep passion for music and a commitment to using her voice to uplift others.
JaCene began her musical journey in 2016, when she decided to pursue her dream full-time, transforming her love for music into a flourishing career. From her early days in a family of musicians to performing on stages alongside renowned artists, her story is one of determination and growth.
Growing up in a family with strong musical roots—her father a pianist and her mother a songwriter and psalmist—JaCene was immersed in music from an early age. Though hesitant to embrace her talents, she recognized her gift for writing and singing at just 10 years old, thanks to her father’s encouragement. With support from 100 Strong, she launched her solo career, debuting with her first single, “Sober High,” recorded in her father’s studio.
JaCene’s music is a reflection of her life, marked by a unique blend of soulful melodies, lyrical bars, and emotional depth. Influenced by legends like Lauryn Hill, Jill Scott, Jhené Aiko, Jennifer Hudson, and John Legend, JaCene’s style is both timeless and refreshingly original.
Her discography showcases her evolution as an artist, with standout projects such as “Different Waves” (2019–2021), “Manifestation” (2022), “In Money Thirsty We Trust” (2023), and her latest, “Smoke & Vibez 2” (2024). Her recent project, “Big Girl Appetite,” addresses themes of self-worth, body positivity, and empowerment, resonating deeply with listeners.
JaCene has also established herself as a dynamic live performer, gracing stages at events like the Black Family Reunion in Cincinnati and the Jazz Festival, where she shared the spotlight with icons like Jill Scott and Fantasia. She has opened for prominent artists such as Coco Jones, Boosie Badazz, and Bubba Sparxxx, further cementing her reputation as a rising star.
Now signed to Pretty Money Records, JaCene is focused on expanding her reach in 2024 with new singles and potential tours. Her motto, “BGA (Big Girl Appetite) and Big Body Hottie,” underscores her commitment to plus-size empowerment, self-love, and authenticity.
Looking ahead, JaCene envisions performing on iconic stages like Madison Square Garden, with a goal to inspire others through her music and story.
