Toronto-born Shakkir “Shakkdiesel” Brown is making international headway with his producer collective, “Diesel Collective”. Founded in February of 2020, Shakkdiesel aims to take take his group of producers to the top of the hip hop industry – already having a Billboard #1 hit under his belt with Den Beats’ XXXTentacion placement.
Shakkdiesel is a rising icon in hip hop management. Having ties to OVO Sound as well as Toronto artists like Chromazz & Pressa, Shakkdiesel has been solidifying his place in the game for some time now. He most recently A&R’d a song for Spanish artist, Kidd Keo & his label “Dirty Business Trap”. With the creation of Deisel Collective, Shakkdiesel is providing placements and opportunities for his team of producers – who were recently featured on Toronto’s coveted Yonge & Dundas Square billboard.
International personalities such as DJ Akademiks and Adam22 have recently taken note of Toronto’s hip hop artists, however producers from the city have been reaching the highest levels of hip hop for years now. Diesel Collective producer, Den Beats, is a prime example of international producer talent from the 6ix. His track “$$$” with XXXTentacion reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts, earning him his first Billboard plaque. Other Diesel Collective producers include Ayy Walker Beats, Yosh Beats, Mway Beats, and Catch22 Beats.
Shakkdiesel sees it fit that each one of his producers have major placements with international hip hop artists. His ties to OVO Sound & other camps around the world make him a major force in pushing Toronto’s hip hop industry forward. While online celebrities focus on the entertaining antics of Toronto’s local hip hop artists, Shakkdiesel is elevating his producers to new levels of the industry.
