Getting to Know Leading Logo Designer DaLogoPlug

Casey, Founder of DaLogoPlug, sat down with us to discuss his style, inspirations and how he got his start in logo design.

1) When did you first know that you wanted to get into design?

Since High School back in 1999, but I would say like 5 years I actually started taking digital design more seriously.

2) What inspired you to start your own company?

Being able to say i’ve built my own business from nothing, I feel is really rewarding. Also was always into drawing and everybody around me always said I never belonged working a regular 9 to 5 job. That I had to much talent and should be making a living off it.

3) What are some of your favorite things about owning a company and what are some of your least favorite things?

My favorite I would say being on my own time. Having the option to take-off when I want.

An I would say salary wise i’m getting paid better than I ever was in my life.

The not do favorite would be it’s all on me. I remind myself that if i’m not getting working done i’m not making any MONEY. So that can be stressful at some times.

4) What specifically made you want to design logos for people?

I put two and two together. Since I’m very versatile in my art style, i feel like i can bring anybody vision to life. I feel my logos are unique like a part of me leaves with them when they are finished. Plus I love the customer reactions when they are the final product.

5) Do you have a funny story about a mistake you made and what did you learn from it?

I would say my mistake was not really following what i was made to do which is art. Failing digital art class because I was too much of a know it all yea, I got a “F” in art class lol

6) Who are some designers that you look up to?

My favorite artist would be Cheo a graffiti artist who is also into the digital art world. Another artist would be Dame a german 3-D artist. And Kaws also i would say has influenced me. The problem with this question is there are just too many to mention Marvel, Disney, DC, looney toon, Most importantly my Mom. She was a cartoon artist as well and taught me how to draw since I was in diapers lol

7) What are your goals for your business? How do you see it evolving in 5-10 years?

I want my company to be looked at as that unique logo company. Go to da logo plug if your looking for something different something that grabs attention. I eventually want to be that spotlight celebrity artist with millions of followers with my own fan base for my art to make a mark all over the world. I see it growing a lot in the bear future. with word of mouth just by satisfied customers excited about getting something they really wanted. So far so good , everything is going great. I feel it’s the start to something BIG!
