We’re loving Long Beach-based hip hop artist Cliff Savage and the official video to his recent latin-inspired hit “Cha Cha”. Cliff’s single dropped in early August and after popular demand, he’s gifted his fans a sensual, high energy visual to match that late summertime vibe that we’re all feeling as August slowly comes to a close. Staying true to his ‘jerk style’ of music, Cliff delivers a distinct lyrical style to the lighthearted track, meant to entertain and distract us while stuck inside during quarantine. Music is meant to do two things: make you think or help you escape. Cliff has proven his ability to do both and “Cha Cha”‘s vibey escape leaves listeners dancing from beginning to end. While experimenting with latin sounds, Cliff’s determination to create feel good vibes was undoubtedly successful.
In the video, Cliff’s personality shines as he playfully flirts with beautiful women, who easily hypnotize him into this mellow state of being. The setting offers moody tones and neon lights reminiscent of an underground bar or nightclub…another thing we miss in 2020.
“‘Cha Cha’ was my first real attempt at expressing my love for the Latin sounds in the form of a song. It’s obviously a banger at the core, but it’s also a nod to my community where I was raised in Long Beach.” – Cliff Savage
Kicking off his #SavageSummer series, Cliff released his action-packed EP, thoughtfully titled Care Package in May for his fans locked on quarantine around the world. The project included four unreleased records that have kept fans upbeat while at home. Cliff has since released four new music videos and three additional singles – “Channel Surfing”, “Metamorphasis (Freestyle)”, and “Feels Good” – where the music video made its premiere on VEVO. Not only that, Apple Music picked up “Channel Surfing” on their popular playlist, “The Plug”. These efforts have led to over 200,000 streams on Spotify alone – and growing by the day – since May on these new releases.
