ESPN has reported that the Boston Celtics have reached a trade agreement with the Cleveland Cavaliers to acquire superstar point guard, Kyrie Irving, in exchange for another superstar point guard in Isaiah Thomas. The Cavaliers will also recieve forward Jae Crowder, center Ante Zizic and a 2018 draft pick (via Brooklyn Nets).
Earlier this year, Kyrie requested a trade from Cleveland earlier this year; reported reason being so that he could be the focal point on a team, and out of the enormous shadow of LeBron James. It will be very interesting to observe how this shift in pro basketball tectonic plates will affect the landscape of the league. Stay tuned.
