One West Magazine Spotlight Artist: Lanz Pierce

Lanz Pierce, a Queens, NY artist by way of New Jersey, knew what she wanted since day one. At just 14, she left the traditional school system in pursuit of a non-traditional music career.

Her first independent EP release “Point Of No Return” proved to the hip-hop world she was here to stay, forcing major media outlets to pay attention. Determined to keep the momentum going and reach a wider audience, Lanz Pierce created her own label, Innovators&Aviators and signed a distribution deal with Empire.

“Waterfalls,” Pierce’s first single and self-directed music video off her sophomore EP Editor’s Eye has received international play in Australia and Europe. Lanz set the pace for her second and third singles “Like You Should” and “Confessions” which premiered on the front page of VEVO.com. With multiple appearances on Shade45’s “Sway In The Morning” & Statik Selektah’s “Showoff Radio,” Pierce quickly solidified her place as a voice of the next generation of young leaders. Other accolades include multiple features on iTunes’ “New and Noteworthy,” and as AOL’s “Artist On The Rise.”

Pierce boasts a strong performance resume, including a tour with hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg and an international run in Stockholm as well as appearances stateside on the Camplified Tour, hitting both A3C and CMJ stages. In October 2015, Pierce will be headlining the BMI stage at Austin City Limits, one of the most highly anticipated and coveted festivals for new artists. Pierce will hit the ground running with a strong start to her new set of tour dates and the opportunity to reach more fans than ever before.

Stay tuned for more by Pierce following the recent release of her sophomore EP “Editor’s Eye,” featuring “You Got It” and “Do It To Me.” Her third album “WildCard” is currently next in the queue as fans eagerly wait for more.

Lanz Pierce never compromises her authenticity. To this fearless artist, there are no limits.
